Hi Aspirant,
Yes, of course, you can change your category in April 2020 JEE main exam.
If you have EWS certificate, you can select EWS as your category for the April session of this exam. There is no problem in changing your category from general to EWS. but you should have valid documents in your hand before counselling and document verification.
