Firstly, it depends on your intrest , what you have decided to do.

Now, if your learning power is good so i'll suggest that you may start preparing for GATE, if you'll read your reference books from 2nd year and made easy is also there to guide you.

If you want to do the job then try for the off campus placement , it'll work then it's good otherwise you can simultaneously prepare for the GATE too or GRE (for that you need to focus on your english part especially, vocabalry) 

You can also go for freelancing
