Its in the eligibility criteria for BHU PET that the candidates fir each course must have compulsorily studied certain subjects in the qualifying examination.
As for history the candidate have must studied history of art/ ancient indian history,CultureArchaeology/Archaeology and Ancient History/ Ancient Indian History & Culture/Ancient Indian History & Archaeology/Drawing and Painting/Painting as an hons. subject at the B.A. or as a subject in all the three years at graduation level or the Candidates must have studied BVA/BFA (Visual Arts).

sorry to say you are not eligible for m.a in history in Banaras Hindu university. there is bhupet exam.in which you need to appear for master degree course admission in bhu. the eligibility criteria is students need to have a bachelors degree in ancient history with 50% marks in graduation  to appear in m.a history entrance test.
