Dear aspirant;
I hope that you might get a state government college or a good private college;
I assume you want to get into top 10 NITs . So , I think scoring at least 50% will give you an opportunity to get into Top NITs (You may have to compromise with branch) . But considering the recent rules by MHRD , You should also score well in 12th class exam . So , try to be within top 20 percentile of your board ( But if you would be within top 1% , it will be really helpful in future career. But if you are in class 11 and starting preparation , then study , practice smartly . Try to get min 70% in JEE Mains and set higher goal to get into IITs.
You can estimate by this that you might can get a government college.

Counselling for admission into the various National Institutes of Technology (NITs) is done on the basis of JEE Mains score and the councelling starts once JEE Mains results are declared.
