If you have got 173 marks in NEET, then getting a government BDS seat is not possible. Government dental colleges usually need higher marks, even for reserved categories. Most of the time, BDS cut off for government colleges is above 400 marks.

But with 173 marks, you may still get a seat in a private BDS college, especially in the last round of counselling or through management quota. The chances depend on your category, state, and the availability of seats in private colleges.

You should take part in both All India and State counselling. Also, keep private and deemed universities as backup options if you are okay with higher fees.
