Hi Mehak ! Well 96.3 percentile is a very good result and counts your rank as 30000-40000 almost. So with this rank you can get a good nit but for IIT you need to attempt JEE advance exam. You can get any stream but if you want a good stream then the nit will become 2nd tier or 3rd tier but if you want a normal core stream then you may get a good nit. So best of luck to you.

You have not mentioned which category you belong to. If it is general, then you can get only low ranked NIT's. It also depends on your home state, which you have not mentioned here. But, if it is obc or SC or St, then you have chances of procuring a seat in CSE or ECE branches in good NIT's. Also, one thing to keep in mind is that scores and ranks vary each year with difficulty level of the question paper and availability of seats and state quotas.
