Yes, you should definitely take mathematics as your fifth or sixth subject to be eligible for jee mains exam. Without mathematics you will be not eligible for taking jee mains,you should must have PCM in your 12th class to appear for Jee mains exam.
Candidates should have scored 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 or equivalent for being eligible for taking jee mains exam.
The candidates should have qualified in 5 subjects:
Language
Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject
Any other subject
