Actually, you should have secure at least 75% marks in the 12th class board exam, or be in top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam conducted by the respective Boards. Then only you can eligible to get NIT colleges and to appear in the jee advanced exam. And for other colleges below or equivalent to these percentages.

The eligibility criteria of JEE Mains is;
1. Candidates need to scored minimum 75% of marks in class 12th board exam ( for general category ).
2. For sc/st category candidates, they need to scored minimum 65% of marks in class 12th board exam.
If you belongs from second category then you are eligible.
