I have score 53.32 in electrical gate 2019. What college should I expect? Are any chances of getting selected in pay?

i Rashika, i hope you are doing well.

Rashika it is very obvious to say that scoring a score such as yours in EE is not an easy job. You did really devoted some serious concentration to achieve such high score. However, let's not forget that when the paper is set easy, the cut-off unconditionally gets up to a higher range of scores, and vice-versa. Even though, by chance if you happen to be from the ST , SC or OBC-NCL community, then you might have some relief in advancing through.

In the past years, trend has shown that almost all PSUs have been declaring a shortlisting cut-off of 58 and above (for General category). And, this time the shortlist cut-off is expected to rise up to a higher score. So, you better not keep a high expectation for PSUs, instead you try for the IITs, NITs, and other premier private institutes.

For pursuing M. Tech in Electrical Engineering, i would like to suggest some of the institutes. I hope this will suit you well. Based on my experience and analysis so far, the list shall go on as -

1. IIT Delhi

2. IIT Bombay

3. IIT Kharagpur

4. IIT Kanpur

5. IISC Bangalore

6. IIT Madras

7. NIT Trichy

8. NIT Warangal

9. NIT Surathkal

10. BITS Pilani

11. DA-IICT Gandhinagar

12. VIT Vellore

For few of the above mentioned institutes, their previous cut-off scenarios in terms of AIR can be summarised as -

1. IIT Delhi (2018) :

  • General - 730 (Communication Engineering) , 735 (Power Systems) , 750 (Control and Automation) , 775 (Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Drives) , 800 (Integrated Electronics and Circuits)
  • OBC NCL - 650 (Communication Engineering) , 720 (Power Systems) , 700 (Control and Automation) , 740 (Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Drives) , 700 (Integrated Electronics and Circuits)
  • SC - 470 (Communication Engineering) , 535 (Power Systems) , 500 (Control and Automation) , 525 (Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Drives) , 500 (Integrated Electronics and Circuits)
  • ST - 350 (Communication Engineering) , 495 (Power Systems) , 450 (Control and Automation) , 410 (Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Drives) , 400 (Integrated Electronics and Circuits)

HI ! RASIKA

53.32 marks is not enough to get call letter from PSUs .You need at least 65 marks to get call letter from PSU ,this year cuttoff may go high as level of paper is easy im comaprision to previous years. This year to get call from PSU one need at least 70 marks. With this year you may get NITs for higher studies. Chnace of getting old IITs with this score is very less.

You can ask if you have any other queries.

GOOD LUCK!
