As you have mentioned that you have got 55 percentile in jee mains and even if i consider that you are from sc category still it is very difficult for you to get a seat in mechanical in decent nits or in iiest.
Your rank would be somewhat around 5L.So, in this rank may be you can try for lower nits like Srinagar, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh. In gfti's you can try for Assam University, ggu bilaspur.
