Dhyan, you haven't mentioned your Category. But to be honest with you, the old IIMs need a minimum cut off of 95 percentile to be shortlisted for further rounds. The baby IIMs will need atleast 90 percentile. This is for the General Category. For reserved Categories, you will need atleast 90 percentile for the old IIMs and 85 percentile for the new IIMs. Now CAT score is not the only score that is considered while being shortlisted for the WAT and PI rounds. Now if you look at IIM K, the criteria to be shortlisted will be as follows:
Category
CAT Score Percentile
MBA/PGDM Admissions OPEN
Sectional Percentile
10th%
12th%
GEN
85
75
60
NC-OBC/EWS
65
SC
55
ST/PwD
45
And not everyone who gets this score is shortlisted for the next rounds. There is a specific number of Candidates that are shortlisted for the further rounds based on the seat intake of the particular IIM. For example, IIM A considers only these many Candidates per Category:
UR: 100
NC-OBC, Trans: 57
SC: 32
ST: 16
PWD: 6
Now to be in this list, to be honest with you, 86.28 percentile unfortunately isn't enough.
