Hello Saptarshi,

According to my knowledge, there is o undergraduate program available in India to pursue a career in astronomy.

But to pursue a career in theoretical /observational astronomy, you can do b.sc in physics or mathematics. For pursuing a career in experimental astronomy, you can do B.tech/B.E in electrical or electronic.

Get a master’s degree in science. Getting a master’s degree will allow you to take specialized classes on astronomy, physics, and math.

After completing the course one can easily get the placement as a research fellow in major government institutions like DRDO, ISRO.

Since you are in class 12, so your first target should be to get good grades in physics, mathematics, and chemistry.

Then you will be able for b.sc  in physics or mathematics.

Hope this helps. You can contact for any further guidelines.
