I passed with pcb from cbse in 2024, took a drop and now I want to give NIOS public exam with pcm in April 2026 and wish to appear in jee mains and advance in 2026 as appearing (for class 12). I'm not sure if I'll be eligible in them. I have never attempted jee before. Also, is this a wise decision? I really want to get into an iit.

Hello,
Yes, you will be eligible for JEE Main and Advanced 2026 as an appearing candidate through NIOS with PCM, since it's a recognized board.
You've not attempted JEE before, so 2026 can be your first attempt. If you're serious about IIT and ready to study well, it's a good decision. Just stay focused, choose PCM in NIOS, and prepare well for both NIOS and JEE together.
Hope it helps !
