Dear Student,

Thank you for writing to us. Any PG programme gives you an access to further studies and helps you to prepare you for teaching profession.

Since Statistics is more knowledge based and Computer Science is more of skill based, it entirely depends on which subject appeals you more. If you want to go for higher studies,Statistics would be a better option and it also opens various opportunities for Govt Sector. However, Computer Science is more dynamic and opens various opportunities in the Corporate World also apart from teaching and being a freelancer.

I hope this would further help you to arrive at a decision.

All the Best!

Hello Aspirant,

Both are the good options & have scope in its field, I would suggest you to go as per your interest & capability. Statistics is a branch of Mathematics. After completing M.Sc in Statistics, you can apply the entrance exam  for Indian Statistical Services conducted by UPSC.

Computer Science is a branch which has a very wide scope which is used in many fields. You can go for net working, coding, hacking and so many other fields. After completing M.SC in Computer Science, There are many opportunities in IT Sector.

Good Luck!
