Yes, you can technically apply for a master’s in chemistry (M.Sc Chemistry), but most universities require a B.Sc degree with chemistry as a core or honours subject for eligibility. If you only studied botany as your generic elective and didn’t take core chemistry papers, many top universities may not accept your application, or they may ask you to clear bridge courses or prerequisites. Some universities with flexible admission policies might allow it if you have basic chemistry knowledge and good grades, but your options will be limited compared to students with a chemistry background.

Hello

Completing Botany as a generic elective course for 6 semesters may not get you eligible to do Masters in Chemistry as the eligibility requirement for M.Sc in Chemistry is that you should have done B.Sc in Chemistry as a core or major subject (not elective).

Thank You!!!
