That's a question you need to ask yourself. If you have that mind set you'll clear  jee main with good rank then you should take a year drop otherwise a years is long period think twice before taking any step. Also help me with what you want to do if you're going to drop partial so that I can provide you exact information.

I want to pursue mechanical engeneering or aerospace engineering from a reputed NIT/IIT. If my parents decide that a drop would be too risky, they'll admit me in a college based on my MHTCET or BITSAT ranks. So I plan to cover my weak subjects and study the JEE syllabus parallelly so that I can appear in the exams again and hopefully crack them. And since most colleges don't have rigorous curriculum in the FY(I think), so I'll be able to take out the remaining time and utuilise it for my prep. Can you help me out with any sort of advice you'd like to give me based on my information?
