Hello,
If you qualify in JEE Main by scoring the minimum cut off marks specified by NTA then you will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. If you qualify in JEE Advanced and secure a decent rank then you may participate in JoSAA counselling for admission in to IITs based on your JEE Advanced rank. If you haven't qualified in JEE Advanced then you can still apply for admission to NITs. IIITs and GFTIs in the same year. You do not have to appear for JEE Main next year. Based on JEE Main score you can participate in JoSAA counselling and get admission in an NIT or IIIT or GFTI. Your JEE Main score will be valid whether or not you have qualified in JEE Advanced.
