Dear Candidate
It appears that you may not be eligible for admission to the undergraduate programs at the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research ( IISERs) for the academic year 2025. The eligibility criteria for the IISER aptitude test (IAT) 2025 stipulate that candidates must have completed their class 12 or equivalent examination with at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Since your academic background in social sciences , you do not meet this specific subject requirement.
While your impressive academic performance ,possession of a NSS certificate and domicile in a Union Territory are commendable , they do not compensate for the mandatory subject prerequisites.
Hello there,
Here are the details regarding admission to the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) for a Bachelor of Arts (BA) program. Currently, IISERs primarily offer science-focused undergraduate programs, and there is no BA program available.
IISER Undergraduate Programs
IISERs offer the following undergraduate programs:
-
BS-MS Dual Degree Program : A 5-year integrated program combining Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees.
-
4-Year BS Programs : Offered in specific disciplines such as Engineering Sciences and Economic Sciences at select IISERs.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these programs, candidates must have completed their Class 12 (or equivalent) with a science stream, including at least three of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Additionally, admission requires qualifying the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).
Your Academic Background
Based on the information provided:
-
Class 12 Percentage : 93%
-
Subjects Studied : Social Science (assuming no science subjects) iisermohali.ac.in
-
NSS Certificate : Commendable, but not a criterion for IISER admissions
-
Domicile : Union Territory
Given that you have a strong academic record but lack the required science subjects, you would not be eligible for undergraduate programs at IISERs.
