Definitely you should join computer science /IT/ Computer science and technology.
These courses will provide you easy understanding of Artificial Intelligence .
You need to be good at programming language ,data structures and algorithms to start Learning AI .
IIIT Hyderabad have specialised course in AI .You can this college or any IITS NITS and IIITS would be best .

If you are that much interested to go in the field of AI then you should try to get into the IIIT Hyderabad , IIT Madras, University of Hyderabad and if you're not able to get into such Institute then yaah taking a CSE / IT branch will be good and preferred option for studying the Artificial Intelligence.
