Hi Dhanuss!

Getting a seat in private college and applying for its counselling depends on the NEET cut-off. This year National Testing Agency (NTA) will release NEET results along with NEET cut-off marks. Since you have not mentioned your specific quota or reservation status, I would like to tell you about the different year trends and you can have an estimate for this year too.

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) would acknowledge you to qualify NEET if your percentile ranges between 50-55, which means you have to have atleast 50th percentile in order to qualify the exam. If you are not qualified, you are not allowed to appear for any counselling. If you have qualified after getting 50+ percentile, you can appear for both all India medical counselling and state medical counselling for deemed universities and private colleges. After the advent of NEET, any college be it private, government or trusted would require you to have a minimum score to be deemed qualified. Your chances of getting a medical college depends on this very factor.

For the year 2018, NEET qualifying marks were 119 for the 50th percentile, which means that the person may get a seat in private medical college.

For the year 2017 (which many have compared NEET 2019 to) the cut off marks were 131. So I believe you have a safe score in terms of qualifying the examination. After the NEET results would be declared, you might want to fill in for counselling to All India deemed universities and private medical colleges. Once these two rounds of country-wide counselling is done, you can try for respective state institutions according to your preferances. Some states and universities might release their state counselling procedures along with All Inida counselling dates, so make sure you keep a check on these. Certain private medical colleges require marks as low as the cut off score so make sure you make a well awared choice.

All the best for your future!

Feel free to ask any more queries.

Hello dhanush,

I am sorry to say but, In those very marks, you will hardly get any college.

and for private colleges, you will have to give donations and high fees.
For a medical exam like NEET, you need to prepare well.

Don't worry. Prepare yourself for next year.

You will obviously get a seat if you try hard at your level best.
All the best.

Hello aspirant

Well since your neet score is really less I don't think that considering this year's merit it would be easy for you to get a seat in MBBS private medical College.

But rest depends on your state and category that you belong to .You may wish for a private seat in BDS or any other courses .

All the best
