First of all I hope you know Polytechnic people wont be eligble for admissions through JEE Main. I hope you know that. You will have to qualify in JEE Main so that you can write JEE Advanced as only IITs will allow admissions for diploma holders or vocational students.  

See the JEE Main Syllabus and not CBSE. Check JEE Main sample papers  to see the previous year question papers; solve them first to know where you stand and you can prepare from there. Check this article for preparation and books. See this article for preparation tips in the last few months
