Lets say if you have applied for All India Counselling in Round 1, once you are allotted a seat and take admission in it, you have an option of Free exit or upgrade. Free exit will help you with the refund but not upgrade. This also is the same for State Counsellings. You will have to forfeit the security deposit that you paid. This will not be refundable if you quit a seat allotted in Round 2 once you take admission. That is why you need to be careful with your choice locking options.
