It's very good that you have started thinking of your next step. At present there are many jobs coming up both  engineering field related and management field related. If you have good subject knowledge then it's very easy to get into good MNCs and private sectors also many govt jobs are coming up. And if you think of getting into management job then first ho for B-schools as it gives you better job opportunities without any experience in this field.

I am from IIM INDORE. As far as I have seen it doesn't really matter which kind of job you do. They mostly just see where(company) and how you have done your job. The admissions purely depend on your calibre and not on the nature of your job. Hope this helps. All the best!!!

If you are from engineering background and hope to go to B schools in future then it would be great to get managing jobs before hand instead of core branch jobs.

But in this practical world, it would be very difficult to get managing jobs without any prior experience. So according to me, it would be nice if you prepare for B schools now itself.
