Greetings of the day. Irrespective of the exam you are speaking about, the emprical rule is; once you get a choice in first round of the counsellin then either you have to go with it or you have to leave it. If you think you can better in the next round then you need to go off the result of yur first round. This is done in order to get more eligible students. Suppose you got a lower stream in 1st round and reserved it, then if you get a better stream in the second round and leave the 1st one then one seat remained empty whereas if you have left that seat then another student could have taken admission. That`s the reason why the rule is  mde as such.
