In general, diploma to B.tech lateral entries students would be offered the same placement opportunities as regular B.tech students, as long as you remain competent academically, and you continuously train and develop your skill set. While there may be some companies that have distinctive eligibility criteria for different degrees, most recruiters would have their main focus on your level of knowledge, skills and project work and not on what degree you had.  Make the most of lateral entry and don’t let it get in the way of employment prospects - build a solid portfolio of work, seek out internships, and develop a good interview style/practice.  As long as you work hard, lateral entry should not be seen as a barrier to good placement.
