To appear for the JEE Mains exam, the only requirement is to have successfully completed the class 12 exam. However, in order to secure admission into NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, a minimum of 75% in PCM is mandatory.

Note that for writing JEE Mains, there is no restriction except that you must have passed class 12 exam. You get 100% or you get 41%, there is no difference.
But, for gaining admissions into NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, you need to have a minimum 75% in your PCM.
