In the eligibility factors it is clear that 5 facts affect the eligibility-
1.) Jee mains score
2.) Age Limit
3.) No of attempts
4.) required jee advanced qualification (board and equivalent exam)
5.) Earlier admissions at IIT
so according to factor 4 you can not apply for advanced if you fail in 12th , general category atleast require 75% marks and other categories at least 65%.

You can give JEE mains only if your results come after the JEE Mains exam. Elgibility of JEE Mains , Candidates appearing in class XII or equivalent qualifying exam in 2019 can also apply for JEE Main.
However, if you fail in your 12th exam you cannot give JEE Advance.
For JEE Advance, the candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with an aggregate of at least 75% marks. For SC/ ST and PwD candidates, there is a relaxation of 10% as they need the aggregate of minimum 65% marks.
