Hello Twisha,

To be able to apply for a seat in AFMC you need to pass the neet entrance examination by obtaining the minimum qualifying score. The NEET minimum qualifying score is the minimum percentile that if needed to be achieved in order to gain admission to any medical college by passing the examination. For this each category has their own percentile.

1- unreserved category : 50% that is 701-134 scores

2- physically handicapped : 45% that is 133-120 scores

3- scheduled caste : 40% that is 133-107 scores

4- scheduled tribe : 40% that is 133-107 scores

5- other backward classes : 40% that is 133-107 scores

6- scheduled caste - physically handicapped : 40% that is 133-107 scores

7- scheduled tribe - physically handicapped : 40% that is 133-107 scores

8- other backward classes - physically handicapped : 40% that is 133-107 scores

After passing the NEET examination you must then apply for AFMC in which they will have to appear for ToELR (Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning). ToELR is an computer based test comprising of 40 MCQs with 2.0 marks for every correct answer and a negative marking of 0.5 for every wrong answer. This has to be answered in 30 minutes.

The marks then obtained will be added to the score of NEET and the  marks will then be calculated out of 800. This will then be divided by 4 to obtain the written examination score out of 200. The I review consists of 50 marks. The final AFMC MBBS merit will be calculated by adding the written examination score to the interview score.

All the best!

I hope this helps.

Hello Twisha!

NEET 2019 brought a lot of surprises. The number of candiates increased, cut offs increased and seats increased. Up until counselling for the session 2019-20 is over, we cannot say anything about this year's cut off. However, looking at past year trends and seeing the level of competition that increases every time in a country like ours, 350 is a very poor score. It does not even make a 50% score out of 720. I would not sugarcoat anything, as it is a matter of your future. 350 simply cannot get you a seat into a college that already has a very high competition with only one-third of seats available for girls. For 2017, the cut off was 600. This year, the cut off would be even more. So even though it majorly depends on the level of paper that a particular year had, it cannot hit this low.

Do not worry. NEET 2020 is a long way down. You have an entire year of preparing for the exam. The questions asked in NEET are easy. You just need to add another year of hardwork to your life. Take this from a dropper, a singke year can get you ypur dream easily. I myself started from the month of August and this year I'm sure to get a college of my choice.

All the best for future.
