Hi,
JEE exam is a difficult exam to crack. It requirers lots of study and hardwork to prepare for the exam. For an extraordinary student probably it might be sufficient to read ncert only. But for an average student I think reading only ncert does not work.
For such examination it is equally important to practice the question with theory. Only then you can get an idea about your preparation and how much you can score.
Class 11th syllabus is also equally important because in class 11 the basic concept are given which help further to understand the topics of class 12.
So in my opinion you should practice question from jee main books alongwith the study of ncert. And if your basic of class 11 is strong enough you can skip that. But it will be better if you do a quick revision of class 11 topics.
Hope this help you in your studies.
Hello Gautham,
If you really want to get qualified for JEE advanced, you need to make sure that you study a bit harder in order to achieve the target score. Previous year, the cutoff to answer JEE advanced was 78 percentile. So, I would definitely tell you to atleast go through some of the important topics from class 11th. Also, whatever you are studying from class 12th, see that you focus more on the topics from which more number of questions are likely to appear. Also, please go through previous years question paper and try solving and practising them. If you follow all this, you will definitely be qualified to answer JEE advanced and get the desired score.
Good luck!
