Hello there!

Lines are concurrent if they pass through a common point.

In order to find the value of k we have to find the value of x and y where both lines intersect.

Since, there are 3 variables (x,y and k) and we have only 2 equations. In this case, we can only find the value of k in terms of x or y.

Here is the approach:-

2x+y-1 = 0   ….eqn (1)

x-3y+k = 0   ….eqn (2)

Multiplying eqn (2) by 2 we get,

2x-6y+2k = 0   …eqn (3)

Subtracting eqn (1) from eqn (3) we get,

-7y+2k+1 = 0

From the above equation we get,

k = (7y-1)/2

Hope this answer resolves your query.
