Hey,

What we know it the velocity of electron is (2.18*10^6*z)/n where n is orbit number and  z is the atomic number of the element.

Now, we know that the value of atomic number of hydrogen is 1 and velocity is inversely proportional to n therefore if the speed of first orbit is x then for third it will  be x/3.

I hope this helps.

All the best!

Hello Hani,

We know that velocity of electron is given as -

v= (2.18×10^6× z) / n

Where,

n= no. of orbit

z= atomic no.

v= velocity

Since we have hydrogen atom we fix z= 1

If, for orbit 1 velocity is x, so for orbit 3 velocity is x/3.

HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU

GOOD LUCK!

Hi,

The velocity of an electron is z x e^2 / 2nh.

For the first orbit: v= 1 x e^2 /2 x 1 x h ==> v=e^2/2h which is equal to x

For third orbit v= x/3

Hope this helps!

hello aspirant

well for that you need to know the formula for velocity of an electron

which is v=(2.18∗10power6∗z)/n

where each letter denotes something like n=orbit no

z=atomic no

v=velocity

so as we take hydrogen atom where z=1

so for orbit 3 it is x/3
