From my point of view, The college atmosphere is a very important criteria to choose the college during counselling time. If we compare both the college that  is IIIT Guwahati and NIT Durgapur , we can easily find that NIT Durgapur is one of the old and prestigious college of India whereas IIIT Guwahati is a PPP based model IIIT and it's a very new IIIT.

So, in this matter NIT Durgapur is better one.

among nit durgapur and iiit guwahati , nit durgapur is more better than iiit guwahati according to NIRF ranking. it ranked 47 by NIRF while iiit guwhari ranked  66. also it is established earlier than iiit guwhati

infrastructure  and academics wise NIT durgapur is better . also placement wise both the colleges are good. average package if 5 lpa

So in this matter NIT Durgapur is better one . In NIT Durgapur u will get a better coding environment  NIT Durgapur is old and included in top nits of India. It's placement is also very good in CSE branch . In IIIT Guwahati the first batch is passed 2017 and their placement was satisfactory. So in my opinion you must join CSE Durgapur.

If we say about placement of colleges

IIIT Guwahati (ECE) 5-6LPA average salary

NIT Durgapur (CSE) 10-12 LPA average salary
