I do understand your situation, not everyone wishes to be a Doctor or Engineer all the time. Family pressure too puts one into a position. Since you are into English, I must suggest you to persuade your parents to get to know about the career opportunities with a degree in English honors. You must be aware of the fact that a proper degree in your subject can offer you quite a major positions in life like Digital Copywriter, Editorial Assistant, Lexicographer, Newspaper/Magazine Journalist, Secondary School teacher, PR and what not.
And the salary at times exceeds your expectations. You should try to convince your parents of the wonderful job aspects in the field of English.
