This is where you score just 1 mark. Few top Schools select top 5% of Candidates in each Category to shortlist for WAT and PI rounds. So to be shortlisted, this is how your CAT percentile should look like:
QA DLR VARC Overall
General: 70 70 70 80
NC-OBC/Trans: 65 65 65 75
SC: 60 60 60 70
ST: 50 50 50 60
PwD-UR,OBC,SC: 60 60 60 70
PwD: ST: 50 50 50 60
Although a low CGPA score does cause an
impact during admissions time, it is however
not the only factor which decides whether
you get admitted in top B-schools. There are
several other important elements which you
can still work on to ensure you gain
admissions in the universities of your
preference. You must draft a well written,
clear and concise SOP (Statement of
Purpose). This must define your aspirations
on completing the course and the reasons
why you have selected this particular course.
Next you will have to obtain an impressive
LOR (Letter of Recommendation) from your
professors where you did your under
graduate degree in or from any of your
managers whom you have worked with. In
addition to the above you could also
complete some online certifications which
would add value to your profile or learn any
new languages. Finally you will have to
ensure you have a detailed study plan to prepare for the GMAT exam hence enabling to achieve high score.
Hope it helps
