Dear Priyabrat,

CA Foundation course comprises of 4 papers. 2 are subjective and 2 are objective type. 2 more new subjects have also been introduced in the new CS Foundation course syllabus.

My brother is a CA and I remember him burning midnight oil to study. And he has told me that ICAI has the smartest brains designing the curriculum and their eligibility criteria to pass CA Foundation just proves that. A student needs to score 40% in individual subjects but the aggregate average should be atleast 50%. For example, you need score 40% in every subject but fail to score an aggregate average of 50%, you fail in the exam. And if you have scored average of 50% but failed to score 40% in any subject, you fail.

Now there is negative marking for the wrong answers too. Every wrong answers sees a deduction of 1/4 marks and each correct answer gets you 1 mark. And a student clears his/her exam based on the eligibility or how well you have fared in the exam. Nothing else like reservation is not taken into consideration. Good luck!
