Corresponding to the implementation of reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) in admission to medical colleges for the academic year 2019-20, the Medial Council of India Board of Governors (MCI BOG) have given a nod to a addition of total of 4465 MBBS seats in around 132 medical colleges.
The confirmation to this major effect comes via a recent notice issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) entailing the number of seats permitted to the medical colleges in view to implement the EWS quota so the seats of other categories don’t get affected.
