Hi Indranil Bhattacharjee

To get government medical college in West Bengal, according to previous years cutoff, expectation has been raised for the qualifying marks. Although 550 is a good score for neet ug but not a safer one. Try to push your limits a little bit higher and try to reach upto a minimum of 580 for a safe and secure position.

Work a little bit harder and achieve the maximum you can.

All the best

Hello Indranii,

As per your query about marks cutoff.. I would like to tell you it varies very year... It depends on lots of factors like difficulty level of paper and number of students getting that mark etc... It also depends on.. It will be different for Government, Private and Deemed medical colleges.... Also it will differ you applying from All india quota 15% or State quota 85%... Cut off of state quota is usually lower than all india quota.... Now in each of these quota its further divided into categories like OPEN/SC/ST/OBC..... Etc..

no one can predict such things. We dont know how a student is studying in some distance of this vast country. But there are always some safer scores which can be predicted.

Overall if you want to know if you are on the safer side or not, according to last  year cutoff marks try to scoring 580+.

Hope its helps you.

If you look at the trends of this year, with 550 marks you can bag a seat in the 85% state quota of West Bengal if you satisfy the nativity criteria of that state. However, at an All India 15% quota level, you'll have to push yourself a little higher up the score board, if you want to guarantee yourself a seat in a state like West Bengal. If the cut offs shift higher than this year, a score above 570 and above will fetch you a seat in some government college of West Bengal under All India 15 % quota. See cut offs always depend on the level of toughness of the question paper and how many students perform well, so keep that in mind, set target of more than 570 marks and work for it. The rest can be worked out once the exams are done.
