Hello!

In first year of college you will learn all the subjects such as physics, chemistry, mechanics and all other subject like law for engineer,Etc.

In first year you only have 1 to 2 subject such as programming with C .

You will learn about your core branch from second year so you need laptop in B.TECH in CSE branch from 2nd  year.

Hope this will help you!

Thanks!

I cannot deny the use of laptop in 1st semester but i can say that it is not that much important, if you are budget bound.

See, in this technology world, laptops are useful in class 11th or 12th itself let alone Engineering but if you can manage then you can skip laptops in your entire 1st semester. You will be taught basic programming languages in your 1st semester with some Maths and Mechanical courses.

If you are a programming enthusiast then i would suggest you to go with your laptop.

All the best!!
