Hello,
There isn't any compulsion but the thing is it will help you.I have personally solved that book and i really find it useful.It really has a good variant of sums and is considered one of the standard books for cat preparation.
But it's ok if you are following other book .
The idea is to practice a good no. of questions within stipulated time.

Go for the book you find yourself suitable.
