Sorry to state  , but B. Tech third year students are not eligible to appear for GATE. You have to wait for an extra year to appear for GATE. Please check the following link for more information

Hiiii dear!!!! I am sorry to say that no you can't appear for the examination of gate in your third year. You can only appear when you will have completed your graduation or during your 4th year when you are in your passing year of the graduation. Otherwise you cannot.
