Dear Neha,

I would like to inform you that, yes, BAMS does include Sanskrit as a language to study in the syllabus.

You have to study it in the first year, you can easily learn and practice Sanskrit in BAMS course as per the reviews I got online from the students who already have pursued the course.

I hope that'll help you, Best of luck for your further career opportunities.

Yes, Sanskrit is compulsory subject in BAMS first year as separately.
For BAMS first year there are 5 subjects actually 7 (two subjects are in modern and ayurved form).
  • Sanskrit
  • Padarth Vidnyan
  • Astanghriday Sutrasthan
  • Kriaya Shaarir
  • Physiology (as modern)
  • Rachana Shaarir
  • Anatomy (as modern)
Sanskrit is compulsory subject only for 1st year. But still there  are Shloka's which is written in Sanskrit that you have to learn from 1st to last year in other subjects.

Sanskrit is compulsory subject in BAMS in first year as many of the books are written in sanskrit language.
This subject is taught separately and it is not that difficult to learn sanskrit inspite of being an english medium student. You have to learn it once and then you will be able to easily cop up with sanskrit language.
