Hello,

  • Biotechnology is a broad area of biology, involving the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make products. It is a technology based on biology - biotechnology harnesses cellular and biomolecular processes to develop technologies and products that help improve our lives and the health of our planet.

  • The simple definition of Genetics is that its a scientific study of the way that the development of living things is controlled by qualities that have been passed on from parents to children.Genetics is a branch of biology concerned with the study of genes, genetic variation, and heredity in organisms.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

Biotechnology is a term under which genetic engineering falls. Biotechnology is a research oriented technology which combines biology and technology.

On the other hand, Genetic engineering, also known as Genetic Modification, is the manipulation of the genetic material (DNA) of a living organism via artificial methods.

In India, the scope for Biotechnology is more than Genetics, as highly developed and advanced technology are used for genetics, which is available only in a few parts of India.

Hope this helps!
