1. English as a subject for being Eligible to appear for the Qualifying Examinations.

There are various codes depending on your stream of study in +2 classes. English as a subject is compulsory if you are eligible in CODE-3/4/6& 7 but otherwise in the other CODE's " English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training" .
2. English as a medium of your Question Paper is not compulsory as the question paper will be available in other languages(viz. HINDI, ASSAMESE, BENGALI, GUJARATI, KANNADA, MARATHI, ORIYA, TAMIL, TELUGU & URDU.)
