The eligibility criteria to pursue a BTech Degree in food tech includes:-
- Candidate must have finished their 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks
- Candidate must be of the science stream with physics, chemistry and mathematics
The course is 4 years long in duration and spans over 8 semester as any other BTech course.
Apart from BTech, B.Sc food technology requires a candidate to have passed their 10+2 from a recognised board with physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology/home science as the core subjects.

Food technology is a vast branch that deals with a wide range of activities including conversion of raw materials into processed food and, packaging and processing of food material etcetera.
There are several courses related to food Technology at both undergraduate and postgraduate level including diploma courses. The basic eligibility criteria is to pass 12th from a recognized board in Science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Home Science and minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by a university or college with minimum 50 percent or 60 percent.
