Is high concentration of lactic acid in the human body causes fatal?

Hello,

As the higher the concentration of the Lactic acid in the body which is of greater than 4mmol/L causes Lactic acidosis, which is going to disturb the acid base balance of the body.


As per studious, Lactic acidosis can cause reduction in the contractibility of the heart and hyporesponsiveness of vascular to vasopressors.

It may cause to risk of death, independent of organ failure and shock.

Very high levels of lactic acid cause a serious, sometimes life-threatening condition called lactic acidosis. Lactic acidosis can also occur in a person who takes metformin (Glucophage) to control diabetes when heart or kidney failure or a severe infection is also present.
