Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy is a domain specific institute at par with IITs and IIMs. As the institute is connected to major public sector units such as ONGC, GAIL, HPCL and others, it provides an exposure that is comparable to IIT’s. The institute has also been declared as the Institute of National Importance under Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy Act, 2017.
