Hello Aspirant,

In the present day, job opportunities are based on skills. And as the trend follows, your skill sets determine your pay package.

The most important thing that product based companies look for is what latest technologies you can work on. Most academics institutions still continue to teach C and Java which whereas companies are looking for candidates who have knowledge in trending languages and frameworks like Angular, MongoDB, ExpressJS and NodeJS.

So they mostly seek out for candidates with good coding skills. If you are very good at it the ball is in your court. Stay tweaked regarding the offline exams that the companies offer. You can also sign up for challenges like Google Codejam, Google summer of Codes, Codesprint, Hakkerank competitions and try to win them to showcase your skills on paper. Stalwarts like Google and Facebook to get immensely prized away by such achievements.

Good Luck!
