Is OC caste going to get 50% reservation in mbbs seat allotment

As of now, there is no provision for a 50% reservation for the Open Category (OC) in MBBS seat allotment in India. The current reservation policy for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats in medical colleges is as follows:

- Scheduled Castes (SC): 15%

- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%

- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27%

- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10%

- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 5%

The remaining seats are allocated to the General Category, which includes OC candidates. There is no specific reservation for the OC category; they compete for seats in the unreserved pool. Therefore, OC candidates do not have a 50% reservation in MBBS seat allotment.
