Is pulmonology is end branch ?can we do dm after pulmonology??
Hey samudrala, Usually MD Respiratory medicine is the post graduate speciality and you don't have to do super specialisation just like how MS orthopedics stops at the post graduate level..but you can still do fellowship courses for 6 months of 1 year in some hospitals. And some colleges like Amrita medical College offers you DM Respiratory medicine following MD internal medicine and am sure you know very well that you will be eligible for MD respiratory medicine only through NEET pg or AIIMS or Jipmer PG and PGI Chandigarh. Hope this helps..good luck..
No pulmonary medicine is not the end branch and one can do DM after that. It depends on the institute what it offers. Like in AIIMS DDelhi, Deparmnt of Pulmonary Medicine provides Pulmonary Intensive Care and Sleep Disorders as the subject for D.M. studies for 3 years. Their are about 10 colleges in India providing DM course after MD in Medicine or MD Pulmonary Medicine.
You may also apply for fellowships like Interventional Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship etc.
So MD Respiratiory Medicine is not the end branch.
