Yes its a good choice Srm has brand name that shows the quality and sophisticated culture of students studying there.The research facilities at SRM, and they have a research day every year you can present your research there.They have a very good program which is cheaper than VIT its called SEMESTER ABROAD PROGRAM( SAP), as the name suggests you can go abroad to pursue 1 semester there.

.Placements  yes  all you need is a good amount of interest and enthusiasm to learn and be sportive you can get a good job after finishing your course.

Yes it is one of the top institutes of india and many companies visit to recruit students from there. Placements are usually good, especially for the computer science department. Even non-CSE departments usually sit for software placements and bag good jobs. Overall, placements are good in software sector but not so good for core jobs In other sectors.
